About ifsounds

ifsounds are the images of our dreams and our nightmares. Music is just the shape into we turn stories, hopes and fears.
ifsounds is a project that joins the talents of five musicians very different each other in order to create a sound that could express an emotion, that could describe a state of mind, that could tell a story, that could allow anyone of us to make an inside trip.
ifsounds try to reproduce not only the world around us, but the world inside of us, because everyone of us creates his own reality and his own lifeline.
Biography.
1993-2000 The band started its activity playing covers (from Pink Floyd, Queen, Police, etc.) and some new composition. Franco Bussoli on bass guitar, Pietro Chimisso on drums, Claudio Lapenna on piano and keyboards and Dario Lastella on guitars are if’s “MACK I”. The band played usually in Rock Festivals and High School parties, meanwhile they tried to record some rough demo tape.
2004 Old bandmates without Pietro Chimisso joined together again after 4 years. if recorded the album In the cave. Paolo De Santis was the new vocalist.
2005 The album if was released. The band re-arranged and re-recorded some of the tunes written in the oldest years.
2006 The song I wish reached #1 on “Classical” charts of iacmusic.com. It stood on the top for about two months.
The song You was nominated for the Golden Kayak Award in “Easy Listening” category.
if were awarded by the web www.primonumero.it as the best band in their zone.
The album The Stairway was released in December.
2007 On February 6 songs from The Stairway reached Top 10 on “Progressive Rock” charts of iacmusic.com. Close your eyes reached #1.
A cover of I wish by Scottish singer Raymond Porter reaches #1 on General charts of iacmusic.com after just 2 days from its release.
Don’t go and It’s just me were nominated for the Golden Kayak Award in “Progressive Rock” category.
The band starts working on the new album Morpho Nestira. Drummer Luca “Pingu” Di Pardo joined the project.
2008 if’s new album Morpho Nestira was released.
2009 Morpho Nestira is getting a good success among prog fans worldwide and very good reviews in the best prog webzines.
In September if change is name in ifsounds and two new members join the band, while Luca Di Pardo and Paolo De Santis leave it.
Elena Ricci is the new ifsounds’ singer and Enzo Bellocchio is the new drummer.
In September the 22nd the new band releases the video Midsummer Raving directed by Hox Vox.
ifsounds sono le immagini dei nostri sogni e dei nostri incubi. La musica è semplicemente la forma che diamo a storie, speranze e paure.
Il progetto ifsounds mette insieme il talento di cinque musicisti molto diversi tra loro per dar vita a un suono che permetta di volta in volta di esprimere una sensazione, di descrivere uno stato d’animo, di raccontare una storia, di compiere un viaggio dentro noi stessi.
ifsound cerca di riprodurre la realtà che ci circonda, ma soprattutto quella che è dentro di noi, perché ognuno di noi è realmente artefice della propria realtà e della propria esistenza.
Cronologia.
1993-2000 Franco Bussoli, Pietro Chimisso, Claudio Lapenna e Dario Lastella formano una band che alterna alcune proprie composizioni alle classiche cover (Pink Floyd, Queen, Police, ecc.). I concerti avvengono soprattutto in occasione di festival e di party scolastici. Il gruppo registra i primi rudimentali demo tapes.
2004 Dopo alcuni anni di inattività, il gruppo si riforma (senza Pietro Chimisso) per registrare l’album In the cave. Alla voce c’è Paolo De Santis. Il disco, pur con alcuni difetti di produzione traccia un cammino nuovo per la band.
2005 Esce l’album if con diversi brani scritti nei primi anni di esistenza del gruppo e rielaborati per l’occasione.
2006 Il brano I wish raggiunge la prima posizione nella classifica “Classica” di iacmusic.com dove staziona per circa due mesi.
Il brano You ottiene la nomination per il Golden Kayak Award nella categoria “Easy Listening”.
Gli if ottengono il premio www.primonumero.it come miglior gruppo della loro zona.
A dicembre esce l’album The Stairway .
2007 The Stairway ottiene un buon successo di critica e pubblico. A febbraio ben 6 brani contenuti nel disco occupano stabilmente la Top 10 della classifica “Progressive Rock” di iacmusic.com, con Close your eyes al #1.
La cover di I wish ad opera del cantante scozzese Raymond Porter raggiunge la prima posizione nella classifica generale di iacmusic.com dopo 2 giorni dalla sua pubblicazione.
Don’t go e It’s just me ottengono la nomination per il Golden Kayak Award nella categoria “Progressive Rock”.
Cominciano le registrazioni del nuovo album Morpho Nestira. Il batterista Luca “Pingu” Di Pardo si unisce al progetto.
2008 A ottobre esce Morpho Nestira.
2009 Morpho Nestira ottiene un ottimo riscontro di pubblico e di critica tra i fan del prog in tutto il mondo.
A settembre il gruppo cambia denominazione in ifsounds e presenta due nuovi membri. La cantante Elena Ricci e il batterista Enzo Bellocchio che sostituiscono Paolo De Santis e Luca Di Pardo che nel frattempo avevano lasciato il progetto.
Per lanciare la nuova line-up il gruppo pubblica il video Midsummer Raving diretto da Hox Vox.
