Apeirophobia su L’Isola che non c’eraFiled Under: Album reviews
Ho appena ricevuto questa bella recensione apparsa su L’Isola che non c’era ad opera di Andrea Romero.
Grazie Andrea per la bella analisi e per le belle parole spese per il nostro lavoro.
Ormai si può affermare ufficialmente: anche in Italia il progressive è tornato; dopo i difficili anni ’80 e ’90, dopo essere stato bistrattato, considerato musica “pretenziosa”, “barocca”, “autoreferenziale”, tra l’altro trascurando proprio l’etimologia del termine, che di fatto è sinonimo di sviluppo, ricerca, innovazione, il genere che aveva caratterizzato gli anni ’70 fino all’avvento del punk vive una stagione felice e produttiva.
Gli IfSounds, in realtà, con il loro lavoro Apeirophobia, si posizionano in un’area un po’ particolare, non fosse altro che per i richiami “pinkfloydiani” che spesso emergono fra le tracce del loro lavoro, Read the rest of this entry »

The band began in 1993 named “if”, recording four albums, after which they became “ifsounds”, with current line up (Elena Ricci (vocals), Franco Bussoli (bass), Claudio Lapenna (keyboards), Enzo Bellocchio (drums) and Dario Lastella (guitars). Meaning ‘fear of the infinity’, this deep concept album is about man’s conscience (“thought”, “spirit”, the essence of “being”) fearing infinity after death. For a sophisticated concept, the music is more up front, a little raw at times, and Ricci’s unique vocal style is high in the mix. They bring an in-your-face attitude to myriad of trad prog influences, no more so than on the almost punky ‘Last Minutes’. This band deserves a higher profile, as they put a lot into their work, with particular plaudits going to their epic 27 minute closing title track.

La prima recensione negativa…Filed Under: Album reviews
Dopo 28 recensioni positive ricevute dalle più prestigiose webzine e riviste di tutto il mondo, è finalmente arrivata la prima recensione negativa, apparsa sulla webzine francese Progressia e scritta dal recensore svizzero Christophe Gigon, che non deve amare molto la nostra musica, visto che anche il suo giudizio su Morpho Nestira fu tutt’altro che esaltante…
Ringraziamo comunque Progressia e Christophe per l’attenzione che hanno dedicato al nostro lavoro, sperando che ci porti fortuna come portò fortuna alla Nazionale spagnola la sconfitta contro la Svizzera nella prima partita dei Mondiali in Sudafrica :-).
