Mi viene sempre da sorridere quando il nostro lavoro finisce nelle mani di webzine metal (oltre a una certa preoccupazione ;-), tuttavia il buon Antonio Canciello di Metal Empire ci ha trattati (soprattutto a Elena!) decisamente bene!!!

Ci tocca ora un bel gruppo progressive rock, gli italianissimi Ifsounds, provenienti dal Molise. La band si chiamava precedentemente If, ha poi cambiato nome per problemi di omonimia con un gruppo prog rock inglese anni Settanta. Vera protagonista di tutto il lavoro è di sicuro la bravissima Elena Ricci, vocalist del gruppo. Si può da subito intuire la sua creatività, data la fantasia delle linee vocali ma anche di tutte le curatissime parti corali che si vanno ad aggiungere, gli effetti utilizzati con enorme frequenza sulla voce e tutte le piccole idee di intrecci vocali. In Greek apeiro means boundless or infinite and phobia means fear. Thus Apeirophobia is the fear of infinity. It is said that people who have Apeirophobia try to live predictable lives. Forse non sarà l’album dell’anno, ma Apeirophobia degli Ifsounds (gruppo molisano già conosciuto più semplicemente come “If” e giunto al 5° album) farà certamente parlare di sé nell’ambito degli appassionati del prog di casa nostra. Un album delizioso, di classe, molto ispirato, di difficile assimilazione e solo lontano parente del, comunque discreto, “Morpho Nestira” che lo aveva preceduto nel 2008.
