Quando un artista propone ad un ascoltatore la propria musica, mette a nudo una parte della propria anima di fronte a questa persona, nella maggior parte dei casi uno sconosciuto, un po’ come un innamorato che si dichiara alla persona oggetto dei suoi desideri. A volte, non troppo frequentemente purtroppo, l’artista ha la fortuna di creare una qualche sintonia con l’ascoltatore. Altre volte, più spesso, il suo messaggio cade nel vuoto dell’indifferenza.
Quando poi un artista si propone a un giornalista il rischio si moltiplica esponenzialmente. L’indifferenza, o peggio il disprezzo, potrebbero essere amplificati dalle pagine di una rivista o di una webzine che grideranno al mondo che l’artista in questione ha pubblicato un’autentica schifezza.
A volte, però, l’artista ha la fortuna di incontrare una sintonia con il giornalista e allora il mondo leggerà una critica più benevola (o almeno più costruttiva…) al suo lavoro. In molti di questi casi, poi, si crea anche un certo rapporto di stima reciproco, se non addirittura di amicizia (cosa che a me è capitata più di una volta… lo ammetto, sono fortunato!).
Tuttavia è rarissimo che un giornalista cerchi di sintonizzarsi “esattamente” con la lunghezza d’onda del musicista, che vada oltre un primo ascolto (spesso neppure completo), che si prenda il disturbo di leggere e analizzare i testi, di contattare direttamente il musicista, di chiedergli spiegazioni… A me è capitato solo due o tre volte, e a mio avviso sono queste le maggiori soddisfazioni nella vita artistica di un musicista e di un autore.
Grazie di cuore, Athos, per lo spazio che ci hai dedicato sul tuo bellissimo blog, per la recensione, per l’intervista, ma soprattutto per il tempo che hai dedicato alla nostra musica!
Sono rimasto molto colpito da “Apeirophobia”, degli IFSOUNDS.

Già conosciuti come If al popolo del rock progressive e dopo 17 onorati anni di carriera, tornano con il quinto album che vede cambi di line-up e di monicker che ora risulta essere Ifsounds. La band molisana riparte da questo concept che tratta della paura dell’infinito. L’album propone 5 brani, con la lunga suite finale che da il nome al lavoro stesso, il tutto creato dalla sapiente regia del chitarrista Dario Lastella, che vede in 2 pezzi la collaborazione del tastierista Claudio Lapenna. Nick Katona and the Melodic Revolution Records launched a new charity label, There is Hope.
The label distributes digitally wonderful compilations featuring the finest Indie Musicians all around the world who donate some of their music for charity.

Musicians for Oil Relief. We all have heard and are deeply saddened by the Gulf Oil Disaster as it has affected many US coastal regions especially hard hit areas like Louisiana, who has experienced much hardship in the last few years. This is the most recent Charity Release to help those in need; human, flora and fauna alike, affected by this horrific man-made disaster.
The Christmas Gift. This album is being released to help raise money for those less fortunate then us, the families that have been misplaced and lost their homes due to the recession. All proceeds (profits) will go Habitat for Humanity via Music for Relief. The Christmas Gift features 16 tracks consisting of many genres of music form independent musicians like John Keller to internationally known artist like Kelly Keeling. The Christmas Gift is the second release to be released on Melodic Revolution Records imprint label “There Is Hope”.
Songs for Haiti - Relief Through Music. The music community has always pulled together in times of need from Bangladesh to Farm Aid So we are hoping this release will help in the same manner even if on a smaller level. Songs for Haiti is a Double CD featuring 30 tracks + a Bonus Disc featuring four additional tracks. We have chosen to donate all proceeds to Haiti Relief via Music for Relief for this project as there is much that needs to be done for the people of Haiti. From the basics like food water and medical, but there is a bigger picture to look at like the rebuilding of an infrastructure. Schools, Hospitals, Homes, Roads and so on. This will not happen overnight, rather years and possibly even decades. In this compilation there is ifsounds‘ song Oceans of Time too.
